GlobalFoundries and TSMC sign an agreement
Global foundries and TSMC have just announced that they have signed an extensive cross licensing agreement to end all ongoing legal disputes. According to the terms of the agreement, the two companies will mutually license the semiconductor related patents granted so far and any patents filed within the next ten years. Before that, grofangde side has been accusing TSMC of infringing the company's patent. TSMC, in its first lawsuit in August, said the charges were groundless and would defend itself in court.
Under the agreement, Grosvenor and TSMC cross license each other's existing semiconductor patents worldwide, as well as any patents applied by the two companies in the next 10 years.
